Do you notice all the different diet suggestions of what to eat and what NOT to eat? It seems like every time I turn on the tv or read another book, there is another diet suggestion that contradicts another. Do you find it overwhelming when one convincing author says to embrace foods like apples, sweet potatoes and a variety of cheeses while another author says these foods should be avoided? It’s no wonder why many people choose to throw their arms up in the air and just do what they have always done. So, what do we do?
Aside from some of the do’s and don’ts, there is a common thread to choose REAL, WHOLE, CLEAN, FOODS! What does this mean? It means to eat foods that have not been dusted in preservatives, additives, artificial anything, no hydrolyzed oils, free of pesticides and other chemicals. Many Seasonings and sauces hide all sorts of these sneaky buggers. Boxed mixes of any sort probably have these artificial additives. Don’t be fooled by marketing on the outside of a box or can; read those “ingredient” labels. Suggestion: Try planting a large pot of fresh herbs. I would recommend beginning with basil, parsley, oregano and rosemary. These herbs can be used fresh and also dried to be used throughout the year.
